Home from the Hospital

John William is doing really well. He is sleeping/waking every 3-3 and a half hours. He's drinking about 50-60ml of pumped milk each feed. He isn't all that fussy either. We're settled back at home now and have a pretty nice schedule going. Julie is doing much better and is a lot more mobile than yesterday. Wow, it's a bit surreal to be doing anything every 3 hours. It's tiring!

Here's a little video of John taken at the hospital on Saturday,

We wanted to apologize to all of our friends who might not have heard much from us in the past couple of days. Julie was induced on Monday at 6:30am and then failed to progress with the delivery. She had a c-section on Tuesday and John William was born at 12:14pm. Bryan went home on Wednesday to pickup some extra clothes and found that our home had been broken into. He had to contend with that situation on Wednesday and Thursday. Thankfully we weren't home and we are all okay, including John. It seems that nothing was taken, although Bryan found the house in a bit of a mess. This past week has certainly been a long one for us. We are so happy to be at home with the baby.

John William is Born

Julie and I are excited to announce that John William Pellom was born today, Tuesday August 12, 2008 (12:14pm) at Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville Colorado. John weighs 9 lbs and 1 ounce and is 21.5 inches long. John William is named after Bryan’s uncle, John D. Pellom, and takes his middle name from Bryan’s father, William Ralph Pellom. Mom and baby are doing fine.

Just a little update. Julie is feeling some pre-labor symptoms. They come and go, very irregular. Most were on Tuesday night and then some more on Wednesday night through early this morning.

We attended a wonderful wedding of a co-worker in Lyons Colorado at the end of June. We found this nice picture of us with some other co-workers from Rosetta Stone (Theban Stanley (left), Peter Lee (middle) and Andi Hagen (right).

Baby's Room

No baby yet (smile). We thought we'd post a couple pictures of the baby's room. The theme is Zanzabar. The house is ready and now we are just waiting for the big day.

This weekend we caught up on sleep and rested pretty much the entire weekend. It seems our friend's advice always is "get caught up on sleep, you'll need it!". Julie is doing well. We both can't wait.
