Grandma and Great Grandma visit

Doris Pellom (Bryan's mom) and Margie Colbert (Bryan's grandma) visited us from September 14th through September 22nd. It is really exciting to have them visit and to get a 4-generation photo. Here is John William with his Great Grandma and Grandma.

We also took the opportunity to get a nice photo too!

John is really growing fast. We tried to informally weigh him using our bathroom scale (we stood on and then computed the difference with him on the scale). We think he might be 12 pounds already! John is picking up on his eating schedule too... about one feed every 2 to 2.5 hours. At night he is going about 3 hours between feeds. He is really not a fussy baby either.

Peter Lee visit

We had a nice visit on Saturday September 13th from Yuefeng Li (Peter Lee) who works at Rosetta Stone. We all took a nice walk (the weather was perfect) and had some time to chat and enjoy playing with the baby. Peter brought John a wonderful stuffed panda bear too. Thanks Peter! In the two pictures below, John is just at 5-weeks old.

John's 1-month Pediatrician Visit

Julie and I took John to the pediatrician today. He did great. He is 10 pounds and 10 oz (75% percentile). He is 22 and 3/4 inches long (80% percentile) and is 15.5 inches for his head (75% percentile). John is growing well! The pediatrician was out of the vaccine John was supposed to get today -- so we'll do that at the 2-month mark.

Thanks for all your help!

We really wanted to thank Dale and Linda (Julie's mom and dad) for coming out to stay with us! After two weeks with John, we really needed a bit of rest and an extra set of hands and eyes. From the time they arrived to the time they left, we saw such a huge change in John. We also got a lot of extra rest which is coming in handy now. We also were just so thrilled to have Christy come too with Logan and Lucas. To make the airline flight and connections with two little ones takes some patience! Having the entire house full of guests for once really made us happy. We are really blessed to have such wonderful family.

Here is a picture of Dale and Linda with John and Lucas,

And one last shot of Julie and Christy holding John and Lucas along with Logan. Christy -- you made an amazing trip juggling the two kids. We can't wait to have the entire family back (including Roland!!) for Christmas.

On Sunday Bryan's mom (Doris) and Grandma (Margie) are coming to visit. We can't wait to have a 4-generation photo taken (Margie, Doris, Bryan, and John)!

Nap Time!

After all that play, everyone is ready for a nap! Logan (left), Christy & Lucas (middle), Julie and John (right).
Baby John loves sleeping on Bryan's tummy,

Logan really loves babies. He wanted to hold John. Here he is with John (although I think John isn't in the best of moods).

Logan is a great big-brother. Here he is walking Lucas,

Logan and Bryan played outside. On one of the days, the ice-cream truck even stopped by (now how often does that happen?). Logan wanted the Spiderman popsicle which had bubble-gum eyes. What a nice treat, and of course, the end-result was priceless,

Christy Rosas Visit

Julie's twin sister Christy came and visited us last weekend with her two sons, Logan and Lucas. Logan is 4 years old and Lucas is 10 months old (born in December 2007). Here is a picture with Julie (left) and Christy (right) along with Lucas and Logan. We really were excited to have Christy and the kids visit along with Dale and Linda at the same time.

Lucas is just about learning to walk. Here's Dale showing him the way,

Grandma & Grandpa Sporleder Visit

Dale and Linda, Julie's mom and dad, just recently visited us for two weeks. We really enjoyed having them around and all of their extra set of hands (and experience!). We actually got a "night on the town" and they enjoyed John. We especially got some extra sleep and some great (healthy) meals too!!

During there trip to Colorado, we even had a nice gentle rain storm followed by a wonderful rainbow. How fitting given the outfit we had John in at the time.

Dale is enjoying giving John some time to "stretch-and-grow". John really loves the workout!

John at 3-weeks

At three weeks John's feeding has really started to pick up. He is really doing well and has been such a gentle baby (not a lot of fussing so far). He's eating pretty regularly -- about every 3 hours.

2.5 weeks young

Here are a few pictures of John at two and a half weeks old. John really likes to be held and sleep on my tummy! I hope we aren't spoiling him.

5-days young

Here is a picture of John at 5-days old -- taken the day after we returned from the hospital. John came home with a few scratches on his face. We had to file down his nails pretty quickly. They've all since healed and he's looking less rough-and-tough now.
